Never thought you'd see the day when the attitude of New York punk darlings the Ramones would smack headlong into a lounge band? Well, that day has come under the leadership of Sam Elwitt and his Nutley Brass. In the fine spirit of the Hollywood Strings and 101 Strings, the Nutley Brass have put the power chord angst of the Joey Ramone and company into the lounge blender and made what can only be thought of as a punk smoothie. Recorded in what they call "dynamic extra-relaxing monophonic" sound, the Nutley Brass are a mix of a high school marching band, Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass, and the legendary Al Hirt.

(1) Thanks for all the Ramone Covers albums.

(2) Believe it or not, but Boston's own Swinging Erudites did a lounge version of "I Wanna Be Sedated" around 1982.
